The Winning Apples!

The Rest of the Winning Apples!

We had a great time at Fall Festival on Friday. We did several crafty activities and learned about apples and Johnny Appleseed. Thanks to all of you who decorated an apple. The two winners in our class were the Brutus Buckeye Apple and the Dracula Apple. They all looked so great. I'm glad that I didn't have to judge. I would've picked them all!

Grade cards are going to go home next week to those who have paid their school fees. I am VERY pleased with the grades that I entered! Keep up the great work:) The best news is that EVERYONE in my class is reading at benchmark (a level E) or above:) Next nine weeks benchmark is Level F. The madminutes are looking great too:) The next nine weeks benchmark for mad minutes is 15 addition and 10 subtraction.

As we begin our second nine weeks on Monday, we will be switching our writing topic. We have currently been writing in journals. We will now be writing responses to stories that we hear. It is basically a journal entry, but a bit more detailed. We have been practicing how good writers write. So far we check for endings, capital letters, spaces, neat handwriting, does it make sense, am I staying on topic? Eventually we'll add, did I spell wordwall words correct. If you have any questions please feel free to call!
